This is advanced and self-directed, senior-level technical work responsible for all aspects of GRU's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system on-premise operations and full product lifecycle administration within an ITIL framework. Individuals in this position work closely with other ERP and/or Database teams, other Team Leads, the IT Project Management Office and the SAP Center of Excellence to operate and build out the corporate ERP landscape.
Positions allocated to this classification report to a senior level manager or director and work under limited supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from other classes by its independently executed and highly complex assignments and superior technical skills with an emphasis on team-oriented system architecture, planning and design, leadership duties and interdepartmental interactions.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Depending on the area of assignment:
May provide a leadership role for the work group through knowledge in the area of specialization.
Maintains technical architecture roadmap, maintenance planning and lifecycle management.
Designs and develops ERP technical architecture requirements and specifications to maximize system performance and availability to ensure the system meeting corporate needs.
Maintains the integrity of the ERP environment by managing the transport process to ensure all configuration and development objects are promoted properly.
Maintains complex ERP software, providing technical support and monitoring system performance.
Performs database backups and client copies.
Applies patches and upgrades and perform production transports in the change management process.
Monitors system activity and workload analysis.
Performs maintenance of computer systems.
Actively pursues continuous education to maintain knowledge and understanding of the rapidly evolving technologies.
Documents procedures and regularly updates all the relevant documentation.
Performs on-call support.
Reports in and responds to emergency situations.
Designs and troubleshoots various ERP communications technologies and interfaces, including RFC destinations, trusted connections, SICF, SMICM, SMGW, SOAMANAGER, SAProuter, Web Dispatcher and IDoc-ALE.
Installs, maintains and performs workload analysis of all associated NetWeaver 7.x ABAP, Java and ABAP+Java runtimes, and ERP systems for several hundred concurrent users in a virtualized environment.
Manages the SAP application stack in a distributed VMware ESXi 6.0 environment.
Provides technical consultation and recommendation for enterprise systems landscape.
Manages Solution Manager service delivery, EWA monitoring and basic operations scenarios with management of the SLD and LMDB in a 2-system SolMan configuration (DEV/QAS and PRD).
Performs SAP System Landscape Transformation (SLT) setup and operations for ETL low-latency replication of transactional data.
Participates in various project teams and the Center of Excellence for design and planning workshops; IT audits; license compliance activities and SAP system measurements and reporting (USMM/SLAW2).
Administration of HANA and Oracle databases, including DR/HA, B&R and data storage and volume management. Knowledge of SQL Server Enterprise.
Manages current versions of Operating Systems and File Systems: SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for SAP and Windows Server.
SAP Basis administrators are expected to continually improve and apply their skills by attending training courses which SAP organizes on a regular basis.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in an Information Technology field and eight (8) years progressive responsibilities and accomplishments in a systems administration or ERP application management role or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
CERTIFICATIONS OR LICENSES
A valid State of Florida Driver License is required at all times while employed in this classification.
Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Foundation certification is required within six months of start date.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent diagnostic and root-cause analysis troubleshooting abilities.
Ability to perform in a schedule-driven service delivery environment.
Experience working with teams to manage data center hardware and infrastructure, including Storage Area Networks.
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking and Identity Management in both Linux and Windows, including Single Sign-On 3.0, Kerberos, SAML, Logon Tickets/Certificates and Active Directory.
Familiarity with desktop client tools such as Lumira, Analysis for Office, Information Design Tool or Crystal Reports.
Strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to interact collaboratively and productively and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with individuals of diverse backgrounds including elected and appointed government officials, Charter Officers, City employees, representatives of other agencies, and the general public.
Ability to create and maintain effective technical documentation.
Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills as demonstrated by the ability to articulate complex information and issues clearly and concisely
Advanced knowledge and SAP Basis experience on two or more successful enterprise implementation or upgrade projects that involved an ECC/ERP or R/3 backend and any of EAM, CRM, BI/BW, BPC, XI/PI/PO, NWA, HANA, Fiori, Solution Manager, Industry Solutions or Mobility products in either a standard 3-system landscape or an N+1 Tier environment.
Deep understanding and experience with SAP Software Logistics, especially ABAP and BW/BPC transport management and domains, client strategies, SL Toolset (SWPM, SUM, SPAM/SAINT, SNOTE), client refreshes, system copies, kernel updates and enhancement packs.
SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence Platform 4.x technologies, including BOBJ (Tomcat on Windows) and Data Services (BODS).
Experience coordinating full Incident reporting and resolution with SAP Global Support, SCN, the SAP Help Portal or offsite consultants.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess certain physical abilities and be able to withstand work related environmental conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is often required to sit for prolonged periods of time.
May be required to work and attend meetings outside regular business hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
Requires local travel to other general government or GRU locations within the Gainesville area.
Work is performed in an office environment with moderate noise levels.
