Gainesville Police Department is hiring for Police Service Technician, I to perform intermediate level certified, civilian, technical law enforcement work providing non-emergency police services.
To be considered for this position you must have: A high school diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma and one (1) year of post-high school work experience serving the public at-large:
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
Preference may be extended to candidates who have an approved training which satisfies the requirement of Florida State Statute 316.640.

This is intermediate level, certified, civilian, technical, law enforcement work providing various non-emergency police services related to the basic investigation and reporting of police incidents and the performance of basic crime scene processes.
Positions allocated to this classification report to a designated supervisor and work under limited supervision. Work in this class is distinguished from higher classes by its lack of supervisory responsibility and from lower classes by its emphasis on performance of police services tasks of intermediate difficulty and complexity requiring basic training and certification.
This position level is expected to perform duties associated with all lower levels of the Police Service Technician series. Incumbents in this position are expected to actively participate in all relevant training and certification opportunities in preparation for progression within the Police Service Technician series.
