The Fairfield Police Department is currently accepting applications for full-time patrol openings. Fairfield is a growing community in Somerset County with a population of 6,735. The Town includes Fairfield, Fairfield Center, Hinckley and Shawmut. Full time officers work a 2-2-3 12 hour schedule and are paid weekly. Education, military and longevity stipends are also available for those who qualify. The Town offers an excellent benefit package including: vacation, sick and holiday time, health insurance with an employer funded HRA, vision, dental, short-term disability, and an employer match of 12.7% to Maine Public Employees Retirement System Special Plan 3 which offers a 2/3 benefit plus COLA after 25 years of service, regardless of age.
