Provides effective supervision of assigned staff including selection, performance management, employee relations, training, prioritizing and assigning work and related activities.
Provides direct services through assessment, crisis intervention counseling and therapeutic treatment methodologies.
Provides guidance and training in the form of daily direct and indirect clinical and casework oversight; assigns cases; makes regular periodic review of all cases and ensures effective follow-up practices; coordinates staff conferences to review complex and difficult cases; provides guidance and direction for emergency situations.
Oversees the preparation and maintenance of case records; ensures staff adheres to effective case management and follow-up practices; makes recommendations for improvements.
Represents the agency on interagency councils, committees, community agencies and groups, both public and private; establishes cooperative programming with other agencies, departments and human service organizations; works with community groups and leaders to develop program needs.
Any combination of education and experience equivalent to a Bachelor's degree in the human services field or any field accompanied by some experience related to human services; considerable experience in assigned program area/human service program; supervisory experience or work experience in a leadership role; Master's degree preferred.
Must possess or obtain within 30 days of hire a valid Virginia driver's license and have an acceptable driving record based on James City County's criteria.
