JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting in the installation, repair, and maintenance of the fiber optic & wireless network.
 
MAJOR DUTIES:
Tests, repairs and maintains the fiber optic network and wireless network, including but not limited to maintaining routers, switches, hubs, fiber transceivers, fiber splicing, and wireless installs.
  • Runs fiber on poles & underground. Duties include working from a bucket truck and trenching fiber underground 
  • Works with customers to troubleshoot fiber optic & wireless network problems.
  • Tree trimming along the fiber route. Does not trim trees near power lines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
 
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION:
  • Knowledge of electronics.
  • Knowledge of software and hardware applications for servers, computers, and laptops.
  • Skill in the use of hand tools and soldering.
  • Skill in computer installation, troubleshooting and repair.

  • Runs fiber on poles & underground. Duties include working from a bucket truck and trenching fiber underground 
  • Works with customers to troubleshoot fiber optic & wireless network problems.
  • Tree trimming along the fiber route. Does not trim trees near power lines.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
