The Somerset County Park Commission seeks a Manager of Information Management. Under the general direction of the Assistant Director, the incumbent provides leadership and direction for Information Management Services. Responsible for development and implementation of goals, policies and procedures, budgets, directing system implementation, maintenance of existing systems, implementation of new systems, hardware maintenance, and data application and management services; supervises Information Management staff; provides technical staff assistance to Park Commission departments. Maintains responsibility for the overall performance and reliability of the agency's information technology network. The SCPC Information Management (IM) Department is comprised of four full-time employees and one part-time employee. The IM department operates both wired and wireless radio networks. There is one Network Domain with 13 servers running at the Park Commission Headquarters Office. There are 18 remote park locations, connected to the SCPC Headquarters Office. All remote locations are connected via Verizon EVPL (Ethernet Virtual Private Line) through a separate contract. This provides services to the 18 remote locations spread throughout the County park system via fiber optics. There are approximately 150 personal computers and 56 printers throughout the SCPC. Currently the SCPC operates five Wi-Fi hot spots located at the Park Headquarters, Environmental Education Center, Warrenbrook Golf Course, and two located at Neshanic Valley Golf Course. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or related field, with a minimum of five years of experience in software and computer hardware administration. Ability to remain current with technology trends and relevant regulatory activities in order to develop effective recommendations and strategies for compliance. Experience in staff development, budget planning, and implementing IT capital improvement projects. Experience working with other management and front line end users to resolve issues. Ability to supervise staff and departmental program applications and hardware. Ability to adjust work schedule for occasional evening and/or weekends as required for system upgrades or emergencies. Must have a valid NJ driver's license.
